1. About This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how H2 Conveyancing collects, holds, uses, discloses and protects personal information.

We treat information obtained while acting for a client as confidential.
Information will not be disclosed unless:
- you have authorised the disclosure;
- the disclosure is reasonably necessary to provide our services;
- the disclosure is required or permitted by law; or
- the disclosure is otherwise consistent with our professional obligations.
7. Security of Personal Information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
These measures may include:
- secure electronic systems;
- password protection and multifactor authentication;
- restricted staff access;
- staff training and internal procedures;
- secure storage of physical records;
- backups, cybersecurity controls and fraud-prevention measures; and
- secure destruction or de-identification when information is no longer required.
We also seek to engage service providers that maintain security measures appropriate to the information they collect or handle on our behalf.
8. Retention of Personal Information
We retain personal information for the period required by law, professional obligations and our legitimate business needs.
When personal information is no longer required and we are not legally required to retain it, we will take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it.
If we receive unsolicited personal information that we could not lawfully have collected and that is not required for our services or legal obligations, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
9. Access and Correction
You may request access to personal information we hold about you. You may also request that we correct personal information if it is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or misleading.
We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.
In some circumstances, access may be refused or limited where permitted by law. If this occurs, we will generally explain the reason unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
10. Instant Quotes and Online Enquiries
Our website may provide instant quotes for most standard conveyancing matters. Some complex, unusual or non-standard matters may require manual assessment by our team before a final quote can be provided.
Where an instant quote cannot be generated, the information you provide may be reviewed by a member of our team so that we can prepare a personalised quote.
Requesting a quote, submitting an enquiry or completing an online form does not appoint H2 Conveyancing as your settlement agent and does not create a client relationship. We will only act after our appointment, conflict-checking, identification, onboarding and acceptance requirements have been completed.
11. Website, Cookies and Third-Party Services
If you contact us through our website, instant quote system or by email, we may collect your name, contact details and the information you provide.
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- operate website functions;
- remember user preferences;
- analyse website traffic and performance;
- protect forms from spam or misuse; and
- understand how visitors interact with our website.
Our website may include or integrate third-party services such as Google Maps, Google Reviews, analytics tools, CAPTCHA services, online quote tools, form providers, embedded content and communication platforms. Those providers may collect information under their own privacy policies.
You may be able to disable cookies through your browser settings, although some website functions may not operate correctly as a result.
12. Cybersecurity and Payment Instructions
Property transactions are a common target for email fraud and payment-redirection scams.
H2 Conveyancing will not advise you of a change to our trust account or payment details solely by email.
Before transferring any funds, you must independently verify the payment instructions by calling our office using the telephone number published on our website or included in our formal engagement documents.
You should immediately contact us if you receive a suspicious email, payment request or change of account details.
13. Privacy Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we handle personal information, please contact us using the details below.
We will investigate the complaint and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
